    Juliet Coley Bremmer BCAe is a former senior deputy headteacher at an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school and has won many awards during her 20 years in education.

    In 2022, she received the prestigious British Citizenship Award for her work in education. She was nominated Best New Teacher in a Secondary School and chosen by the government's Teacher Training Agency to be the face of their training resource ‘How to Teach English’ which is used to train new teachers on the educational standards across the UK. In 2018 Haringey Council awarded her their top honour, the Councillor Egan Outstanding Award for her work in Education and in 2019 at the House of Lords she was awarded The Lord Hastings Integrity Baton Award for her work with young people. Juliet has coordinated a number active citizenship campaigns that have impacted young lives and their communities and was recognised by former Prime Minister Tony Blair with a Respect Award for her coordination of a number of anti-gun and knife crime campaigns. In 2013, Juliet was also awarded The Wise Woman in the Community Award by Wisdom for Women International.

    Juliet has been a school governor and for 11 years served as Chief Trustee at The Kiyan Prince Foundation - an anti-knife crime charity. She sits on Hackney Council’s Accountability Board as a critical friend to ensure the authority’s policies and practices are operating to ensure positive outcomes for young Black men in the borough and also volunteers as an Independent Custody Visitor for the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime.

    At an international level, Juliet is the patron of Deacon’s Academy Foundation School for Excellence in Accra, Ghana. She recently received a Citation of Honour for her work with both pupils and staff at the school.

    Juliet is passionate about young people and legacy and believes that equipping young people with the tools to become young authors through free workshops that develop their ideas and literacy skills, is a powerful way of empowering them and boosting their confidence and self-esteem. Juliet is an author herself and her memoir 39 Weeks: Life Behind the School Gates is in pre-production scheduled to be released as an independent film.

  • Creative Director

    With over a decade of experience in PR, Yazmin McKenzie has worked with many of the world’s sought after talents within the entertainment and lifestyle industry.

    At 19, she founded an independent production and marketing service most notable for the UK Top 40 charity single campaign ‘Everybody Dreams’, made in response to the Tottenham Riots of 2011. The single release, backed by Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), the Mayor of London and the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, was reprised for the 2019 opening of the new Tottenham Hotspurs FC stadium.

    Yazmin honed her craft at global powerhouses SYCO Entertainment and Sony Music UK working across X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent as well as the 2017 BRIT Awards, segueing to Beaumont Communications later that year. Clients she has worked with include; Simon Cowell, Letitia Wright, Samuel Eto’o, Joe Dempsie, Vicky McClure & Noëlla Coursaris Musunka. She now runs her own independent PR agency Twenty9Twelve.

    From British Vogue and Buzzfeed to Forbes and The New York Times, Yazmin has built a network of international media contacts over the years. And with a knack for connecting talent with the right brands, her clients have collaborated with the likes of American Express, ASOS, Max Factor, Soho Home, Jaguar Land Rover and more.

    With a passion for youth culture and equality across the spectrum, she devotes her spare time to supporting the next wave of young talent on the rise in her role as Creative Director here at Young Lit Stars.

  • Pop-Up Coordinator

    Romeo is the award-winning inspiration behind Young Lit Stars and is now 15 years old.

    He has written and published 8 books and has won 4 awards; the TruLittle Hero Scribe of the Year 2016, the TruLittle Hero Scribe of the Year 2018, the Manhood Academy Global Young Master of the Year 2020 and the Violent Crime Reduction Board’s Inspirational Person of the Year (Under 18) 2022. In October 2022, Romeo was nominated by The London Chamber of Commerce for Outstanding Contribution to Literature at the Black Excellence Awards, alongside Akala, Sophia Thakur, Candice Brathwaite and Professor David Olusoga OBE.

    Romeo is currently in secondary school and enjoys reading, writing, swimming, sports and he also loves to cook.

    Having gone through the process of becoming an author and seeing first-hand the many benefits it has had on his confidence and school grades, Romeo is passionate about providing the same opportunities he had to other young Black children; no matter their prior experience, reading level or economic status.

    When he’s older, Romeo wants to start his own architecture and property development firm.
